We do NOT run scheduled services. We custom schedule private marine transportation to and from, and between the southern Gulf Islands in the vicinity of southeast Vancouver Island, Saltspring, Galiano, Manye, Saturna, the Penders, Mill Bay dock to dock, or beaches where accessible. If you wish a water taxi to other destinations such as Vancouver, Squamish, Gibsons, or just about anywhere this would be a custom charter and priced accordingly. We also transport goods and supplies.
We also offer water taxi service specifically for lunch and dinner to several Oceanside restaurants.
We are primarily a passenger marine transportation service, however, with advance notice can also carry bicycles, pets, and kayaks.
Vancouver Island – 460 kilometers (285-290 miles) long, and 100 kilometers (62 miles) wide at its widest point – is the largest island on the west coast of North America. It is unique in many ways, from its Mediterranean climate and abundant flora and fauna, to its rich natural resources and unique geography.
The group of islands off the southern coast of Vancouver Island are known as the Gulf Islands (after the Gulf of Georgia, which separates them from Vancouver and the Lower Mainland).
These islands, ranging from tiny islets that are marine or eco-reserves for certain sea bird populations, to the larger islands: Saturna, Mayne, Galiano, North and South Pender, Valdez, Thetis and Kuper Islands, and of course the largest and probably best known island of all: Saltspring Island.
Our standard pricing covers anywhere from our base in Sidney to and from and in and around the islands, and surrounding islands outlined in dotted red lines. Add to that Fulford and Ganges on Salt Spring, Cowichan and Genoa Bay, Butchart Gardens and Brentwood Bay, Mill Bay, Genoa Bay and Maple Bay on Vancouver Island are also covered by standard pricing.
Transportation to / from Victoria, Vancouver including up the Fraser River, and/or Howe Sound all the way up to Squamish, Nanaimo area, and Gibsons can also be quoted.
We only operate from April though October.

Erik A2024-08-13Verified Private Boat Charter Today I had a private boat tour booked with Birds of a Feather Marine Tours. I wanted to go back to an Island I hadn't been to for 30 yrs and wanted to take my family to the place I had so many fond memories of. The whole experience was a pleasure from booking, the actual boat (new Axopar) and the trip itself. Dieter made us feel welcome, he Captained his boat well and was even telling us about some of the wildlife we encountered along the way. He had to wait while we toured the Island and had lunch which I'm sure wasn't overly exciting for him for the couple hours we were there but he never rushed us or made us feel like we needed to go. My boys got bored early as expected so I asked Dieter to show us some wildlife on the way back. We were able to spot porpoises, a sea lion, plenty of seals basking on rocks, bird life, we went through some neat passages, past some beautiful scenery and enjoyed some fun times on the water. My wife usually gets motion sick (my biggest concern was her not really enjoying the day because of it) but on the Axopar, that boat is so smooth it cuts through the water that well. We did spend quite some time fighting the wind and waves, crossing other boats wakes and she said she never felt nautious once. Unfortunately the whales eluded us today, that wasn't the purpose of the journey, but would have been the icing on the cake. Thank you Dieter for a great trip and helping make new memories while bringing back plenty of old ones.
