Took 2 friends out to scatter their friends ashes today. They had handmade a biodegradable “boat” for the ashes. The boat sank after about 15 minutes. It took us 20 minutes to boat from Sidney where we met to just out past Gooch Island which is just inside Canadian waters and maybe 10 minutes beyond Sidney Island. The girls spent about 25 minutes on scene scattering flowers around the sinking boat. The raised a glass and reminisced about shared good times with their deceased loved one. On the way home I chose a different route back to the marina for a little bit of sightseeing. The round trip was approximately 90 minutes.
